Maison Relais Schëffleng
In order to support single-parent families who must provide for their children alone, as well as working parents, the Municipality of Schifflange offers childcare structures tailored to the specific needs of the working population.
The Maison Relais is run on behalf of the municipality by the non-profit association “Garderie fir Kanner”.
All children from the early-education classes up to cycle 4.2., whose parents’ application has been accepted, may be admitted. Admission during the year is possible, subject to available places. Registration is done from school year to school year on a modular basis.
Priority is given to:
- single-parent families
- families where both parents work
- disadvantaged families (e.g. social needs, etc.)

Holiday period
The Maison Relais is open Monday to Friday from 7:00 to 19:00 during the holiday period, i.e. the All Saints’, Christmas, Carnival, Easter, Whitsun and summer holidays.
School catering
The school restaurants are located at the Nelly Stein school (rue de la Gare) and at the Maison Relais (13, cité op Hudelen). Registration is done at the Maison Relais. Service vouchers (chèques-service) can be requested from the School Department.
Homework supervision
Within the Maison Relais, homework supervision is offered to every pupil from the 3rd to the 4th cycle of fundamental education.
Homework supervision cannot replace the regular revision of the material in preparation for class assignments. It is up to the parents to assess whether the children are sufficiently prepared.
The children are supervised by the Maison Relais staff.
