Who is the data controller?
The Municipality of Schifflange, located at 6, avenue de la Libération in L-3850 Schifflange, is the data controller. As such, the Municipality is responsible for how it collects, uses, shares, stores and protects your personal data.
Which categories of personal data are processed and for what purposes?
Depending on the type of purpose pursued, the following categories of personal data are collected and processed as part of our missions (non-exhaustive list):

- judicial data such as guardianship and provisional administration
- any other personal data that you decide to communicate to the staff of the Municipality of Schifflange.
The processing of personal data carried out by the Municipality has the sole purpose of enabling the Municipality’s departments to carry out their missions.
For each purpose, the collection and processing of your data are carried out in accordance with the applicable regulations on the protection of personal data, including the GDPR – Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (GDPR) – and, where applicable, the national laws implementing the GDPR.
Generally, the data are processed by the Municipality for the performance of its public-interest task or on the basis of the legal obligations to which the Municipality is subject. In specific cases, other bases govern the collection of data: the performance of a contract to which you are a party, or your consent.
The Municipality undertakes to process only the data necessary for the purpose pursued by the processing.
Who has access to your personal data? Where are your data processed? Are your data transferred?
The personal data processed by the Municipality are accessible only to its staff who need to know this information in the context of their duties. In certain limited and specific cases, they may be accessible to the Municipality’s authorised service providers and to the authorities legally entitled to have such data communicated to them (for example ministries, the State Technology Centre). All these recipients are required to comply with the data-protection legislation specifically applicable to them.
The Municipality ensures that it takes all appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the security of your personal data and mainly their confidentiality, integrity and availability.
Except for duly justified exceptions, your data are processed within the European Union and are not transferred to third countries.
For how long are your personal data kept?
The Municipality undertakes that the data collected are kept for a period that does not exceed the time necessary for the purposes for which these data are collected and processed. These data may also be kept for the purpose of complying with limitation periods and/or any other legal provisions.

PRESENCE ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Any user who joins the Municipality of Schifflange on social media undertakes to refrain from any form of discrimination based on race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, national origin, disability, marital status or professional status.
Insulting, racist, sexist or offensive remarks have no place on social media. They will be deleted and reported.
PROCESSING RELATED TO AUDIENCE MEASUREMENT
Certain data relating to the user’s hardware and software that are not capable of identifying them are collected during their visit to this site. The sole purpose of this collection is to have traffic statistics (browser type, resolution, approximate location, etc.) in order to best serve users.
