Fairtrade Schëffleng
Fairtrade Schëffleng is committed to fair trade between producers in the South and consumers in Schifflange/Luxembourg.
Our work is built on three pillars: raising awareness, motivation and the promotion of fair-trade products.
In Luxembourg, as in other European countries, we depend on imports of products from the South that are not grown naturally here.

Fair trade is a partnership based on dialogue, transparency and respect. Commitment to fair trade is an act of solidarity and contributes to sustainable development.
The Municipality of Schifflange, certified “Fairtrade Gemeng”, wishes to strengthen the local action group created following the adoption of a “Fairtrade Gemeng” resolution by the Municipal Council on 11 July 2014.
Various actions…
… have already been carried out over the years since 2014, for example:
- taking part in the Fête des Cultures, the FoodTruckFestival, the Hobbymoart and other municipal events with a stand of Fairtrade products
- organising the “Make chocolate fair” exhibition at the Town Hall
- screening the documentary “Oro libre” with an exhibition of Fairtrade gold jewellery
- selling and offering Fairtrade products as part of activities in Schifflange’s schools
- regularly organising the “Faires Frühstück – Fairtrade breakfast” event
- taking part in the monthly local market
- etc.
