150 Joer Gemeng Schëffleng
Yesterday, on 6 July 2026, Schifflange celebrated its 150th anniversary – a symbolic milestone marking the beginning of a full jubilee year. This exceptional occasion offered a wonderful moment to look back together on 150 years of independence and to honour this important chapter in our municipality’s history.
Carlo Feiereisen, Mayor of Schifflange, opened the event. He was followed by Paul Weimerskirch, Honorary Mayor, Jérôme Courtoy, historian, and Minister of the Interior Léon Gloden. The evening was hosted by Kany Touré, while Andrea Galletti provided an emotional musical accompaniment with his voice and guitar. DJ Sanchez then brought the evening to a close with great music and a lively atmosphere.
Alongside ministers and deputies from the southern district, the municipal council and our honorary mayors, many guests were present: the mayors of neighbouring communes, a delegation from Drusenheim, the “150 Years Schifflange” committee, local associations, and the heads of municipal services.
This symbolic celebration united Schifflange and set a strong and meaningful tone for the jubilee year ahead.
