Education
The education section brings together many facets of municipal education in the broad sense. This chapter aims to inform citizens about the various services offered and also to help them understand how they work.
The School Department is assigned many responsibilities, including drawing up the school organisation, liaising with the relevant school inspector, organising extracurricular activities and running the secretariat of the School Committee.

School holidays for fundamental school 2024/2025
The 2025/2026 school year begins on Monday 15 September 2025 and ends on Wednesday 15 July 2026. Here are the other key dates:
- the All Saints’ holiday begins on Saturday 1 November 2025 and ends on Sunday 9 November 2025;
- Saint Nicholas’ Day: 6 December 2025 (fundamental education only);
- the Christmas holidays begin on Saturday 20 December 2025 and end on Sunday 4 January 2026;
- the Carnival holiday begins on Saturday 14 February 2026 and ends on Sunday 22 February 2026;
- the Easter holidays begin on Saturday 28 March 2026 and end on Sunday 12 April 2026;
- public holiday: Friday 1 May 2026;
- Europe Day public holiday: Saturday 9 May 2026;
- Ascension Day public holiday: Thursday 14 May 2026;
- the Whitsun holiday begins on Saturday 23 May 2026 and ends on Sunday 31 May 2026;
- public celebration of the birthday of H.R.H. the Grand Duke: Tuesday 23 June 2026;
- the summer holidays begin on Thursday 16 July 2026 and end on Monday 14 September 2026.
